Privacy policy
This is a small, static personal site. It collects as little as possible, sells nothing, and runs no advertising. Here's exactly what happens.
Last updated: September 2026
What this covers
This policy covers daverohrer.com, the site you're reading. It doesn't cover third-party sites this one links to (LinkedIn, X, the Business of Digital podcast, NorthSide Metrics, or the booking tool), which have their own policies.
What I collect
There are no accounts, no logins, and no forms on this site, so I don't collect names, emails, or messages through it. What is collected is limited to standard, aggregate usage data:
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages get read, roughly where visitors are (city/region level), what device and browser, and how they arrived. This uses cookies and is tied to a random identifier, not to your identity.
- Search Console. Google Search Console shows me aggregate search performance: which queries surface the site and how often pages are clicked. It contains no personally identifying information.
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted on Netlify, which may keep standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability. I don't use these for tracking.
Booking a call
If you book a discovery call, that happens on an external scheduling tool (cal.com), not on this site. Whatever you enter there (your name, email, and scheduling details) is processed by that tool under its own privacy policy so I can meet with you. I use it only to schedule and prepare for our call.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, and the site will still work normally.
What I don't do
- I don't sell, rent, or trade any data.
- I don't run advertising or use ad-tracking networks.
- I don't build a mailing list from this site or email you because you visited.
- I don't collect anything I don't need.
Third parties
The services above handle data on the site's behalf: Google (Analytics and Search Console), cal.com (booking), and Netlify (hosting). Each has its own privacy policy.
Your choices and requests
You can opt out of analytics anytime using the browser or add-on options above. If you want to know what limited data is associated with your visits, or want it removed, get in touch through the contact page and I'll handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than sent to you, since there's no mailing list.
